#110 – New Video Special

Here are three new bands who have all recently put up videos for their lead singles. The first up is ‘Wax’ by London-based Theme Park. While finding them on search engines is no mean feat, it’s well worth the effort. The bass is toe-tappingly compulsive and the laid back vocals add up to make a pleasing summer tune. Yes, they sound a little like the Talking Heads. But they were good. And so are Theme Park.

You can pre-order their debut single on 7″ here. It’s out on 29th August.

Next we have the single ‘Cuckoo’ from Still Corners. Their debut album is out on 10th October but to whet our appetites Sub Pop have given this single away for free here. In the meantime, enjoy this melodramatic and atmospheric little number…

We’re going to finish up with the new video from Breton. It’s for the song ‘The Commission’ and it is superb. The song is experimental, playing with synths, trip-hop beats and dub bass. Meanwhile the video looks amazing. That is thanks to BretonLABS and Stuart Sinclair, who’s real life job is to make spaceships. (On a computer, but still. That’s freaking awesome!) Anyway, we’ve got quite the wait until their album (looks likely to be early 2012) but this will keep you entertained for a while, at least.
