The North-East is currently producing a healthy crop of artists. We recently featured Little Comets, who hail from Jarrow and Tyneside; today it’s the turn of Middlesborough’s Collectors Club.
I’ll get the comparison in early: they do sound a little like Little Comets. Not a copy, but in a way that would suggest there’s a real market for a good guitar band in the NE. The single we’re featuring here is called ‘First To Know’ and they released it on their own This Is An Adventure label back in April. It’s a cracking slice of ‘indie’ music: cool rhythm, a bit of synth and a good twangy lead guitar.
There’s no news of a full length effort yet, but it’s hard to imagine they’re not working on one.
