Music For Horses no. 19

Chairlift // Feist

It has been a really long time since we’ve done an update on this playlist. Been slacking lately with my chilled music listening, largely because things haven’t really been chilled. Then I was listening to my iPod on shuffle and this song came on. Yes, it may be three years old now, but who cares?! With a vocal that pretty and a bassline that fun it is a cracker. And you can just close your eyes and imagine you’re somewhere so much nicer than wherever you are right now. Unless you’re already somewhere nice. In which case just enjoy the damn song.

Unusually, this installment is going to be two ‘Indie’ songs… no remixes in sight. Continue reading

#51 – The Playlist Presents…

There is a website out there called The Playlist Presents… It is very good. Okay, I should probably be a little bit more descriptive. It is a music and film website that does a very good job of making playlists in the style of certain artists. Here is a little roundup of some of my favourite songs they’ve put up and what playlist they’re off. They have been part of the big indieWIRE for about a year now, which they’re rather pleased about (rightly so!). Some of the playlists are rather old, but they’ve stood the test of time rather like a good bottle of wine. So settle down and if you like it you can go and visit them at The Playlist. To see their old playlists, you can hit them up here.

New Order – Regret (Sofia Coppola) [Buy]

100 Proof (Aged In Soul) – Somebody’s Been Sleeping

12 Days Of Christmas – 29th December

Optimash Prime sporting the Winter Collection

Today’s song is a bit of a contrast to yesterday’s. It’s a Feist remix. No, not that Boys Noize one, but one that the Postal Service have had a crack at. It doesn’t lose any of the charm of the original but it gets a good dollop of electronic noise added like the brandy butter next to your Christmas Pudding (let’s face it, there’s still loads left). The song is here…
